Nevada Elite Announces New Youth Academy
Program for pre-competitive girls looking to improve skills
Nevada Elite FC announces a brand-new program for pre-competitive U8-U9 girls: the Nevada Elite Youth Academy. The Youth Academy is open to all girls who currently are not registered on a competitive soccer team. This program will help players to get ready for competitive soccer (which begins at U10), as well as affiliate those players with Nevada Elite FC, the only all-girls Club in the area. Players will develop the technical skills that all players need to be successful players at any level. Youth Academy players will train once per week with Nevada Elite coaches, learning and improving their individual technical skills. Players also will be introduced to basic tactics. All players will receive a Nevada Elite training ball and training shirt.
The Fall Youth Academy will begin on Monday, August 9, 2010. The cost for the Fall session is $35 (includes ball and training shirt).

Nevada Elite Teams Continue to Achieve Success
Nevada Elite’s philosophy is all about teaching players the game. The primary focus of the Coaching Staff is on the four pillars of the game--technique, tactics, psychology and physicality. These four elements touch on all of the things that a player experiences when she steps onto the field. Each of these pillars also touch on the "real world" experiences that a player will encounter in life. While Nevada Elite’s coaching philosophy is that we play every game to win, the outcome of the games are not the best indicator of the success of the Club and its players.
Each Nevada Elite team continues to progress and the players develop under the skills encompassed by the four pillars of the game. With the developmental success that Nevada Elite players experience comes actual game success (i.e., winning). Some of our teams’ successes over the past year include the following:
Nevada Elite ’95 Blue: Champions, Stanford Memorial Day Tournament; Second place, 2009 Nevada State Cup; Second place, 2009 Rogue Valley Cup, Medford, OR
Nevada Elite ’96 Blue: Second place, 2009 Nevada Zephyr Cup; First place 2009 SMSC Fire in the Sky Labor Day Tournament
Nevada Elite ’97: Second place, 2009 Las Vegas Mayor’s Cup (Rotary); Second place, 2009 Nevada Zephyr Cup; Fourth Place, 2009 Soccer by the Bay Tournament, Redwood City, CA
Nevada Elite ’98 White: Second place, 2009 Yuba City Tournament
Nevada Elite ’99: First place, Rogue Valley Cup, Medford, OR
The Club is proud of the successes of each of its teams and the continuing growth and development of all of its players.

'99s Champions at Rogue Valley Cup
'95 Blue team takes second in Medford
Nevada Elite ’99 went undefeated in Medford, Oregon over the Memorial Day weekend, winning the Rogue Valley Cup and its very first travel tournament! The ’99s won three games before tying in their final game against the team they ultimately played in the championship game. In the final, the team played hard and triumphed. Great job, ladies!

In addition, the ’95 Blue team finished round robin play at the Rogue Valley Cup with a record of 3-1-0, earning the girls a place in the championship game on Monday morning. However, despite a great effort on the field, the ’95 Blues lost a close game 1-0.
All of the other Nevada Elite teams attended the tournament as well, played hard and had a great time!
We are proud of the accomplishments of the ’99s and ’95 Blues, as well as all of our teams. Congratulations, ladies!

Coerver Coaching provides excellent technical instruction for players
Nevada Elite is an affiliate of Coerver Coaching
Nevada Elite FC coaches have evaluated the Coerver Coaching program, an acknowledged leader in the soccer instructional world. The Coerver Coaching program is a great tool that provides both players and coaches with excellent instruction on the technical skills every player should possess.
Players (and coaches) always are looking for new ways to improve their game. Seeing how drills and exercises should be run is critical if a players is to repeat the drills/exercises properly. While field training is the best instructor, pre-team training session preparation and training individually away from team training sessions will help every player to become more skilled technically. This will translate into a player becoming better tactically as she grows older and more experienced.
Coerver Coaching has had a product out called "Play Great Soccer," a multi-DVD set that is outstanding for every player to have to help her learn the technical aspects of the game and great exercises to do that will develop her technically. Currently, Coerver Coaching has a special offer for the program that players and parents may review at their new website at http://www.playgreatsoccer.com/cmd.asp?Clk=2329835. Just for going to that link, players and parents may sign up and get a great video to download or stream for free. In addition, Coerver Coaching will send you the six part educational course called Play Like A Soccer Legend. The site does a great job explaining the features and benefits, so for additional information go to the site.
As an affiliate, Nevada Elite FC will get a 50% comission on all DVD sales.
So feel free to check out the Coerver Coaching program by going to http://www.playgreatsoccer.com/cmd.asp?Clk=2329835. You also may click the Coerver Coaching link under "Affiliates."
Last week, Coerver Coaching announced a new product, entitled "Improve your Game." Coerver Coaching created this DVD set primarily for players and their parents, friends and team mates, unlike our previous products which are targeted primarily at socccer coaches. This new series is designed for individual players to use at home. They can practice in their backyard, their basement, the local park or even their bedroom (with their parents’ permission, of course). Many of the drills can be used alone or with the help of their parents, friends or team mates. Players can also set personal bests and compete with their friends or even their parents in different skills. You can check out excerpts from the DVD set by going to http://www.coerver.com/improve-your-game/excerpts.html?clips. You can order this new product at http://www.coerver.com/iyg.
