Nevada Elite Names New Director of Coaching
Rich Reid Selected as Club's Second DOC

For the second time since its establishment in July 2007, Nevada Elite FC has named a new Director of Coaching.  Rich Reid, one of Nevada Elite’s founders and coach of Nevada Elite ’95 Blue, has been named by the Club’s Board of Directors as the DOC effective immediately.  Coach Reid succeeds the Club’s first DOC, Graeme Abel, who left Reno a year ago after taking an assistant coach position at the University of Oklahoma.  Among Coach Reid’s jobs will be the completion of the Nevada Elite Player Development Program, which will provide a blueprint for development of the Club’s players from the "Academy" level (U11 and below) through the "Competitive" level (U12 and above); coaching development; and other related duties.

Club president and coach Tom Vallas stated, "I have known Rich for a number of years as a player, a coach and as a friend.  He loves the game of soccer and constantly seeks to improve his own knowledge of the game.  He is a great teacher of the game as well.  Most importantly, he is one of the primary forces behind this Club, and strives to develop youth soccer in our area.  I can think of no one more qualified in terms of knowledge and passion to lead this Club’s coaching staff in the development of our players."

Coach Reid has played soccer since he was a child growing up in England, as well as here in the United States and in Germany.  He continues to play in the local men’s league.  He received his NSCAA Advanced National Diploma in 2008 and NSCAA Regional Goalkeeping Diploma in 2007.  Besides his coaching duties with Nevada Elite, Coach Reid also has served as a member of the Northern Nevada District ODP program.

Nevada Elite looks forward to Coach Reid’s leadership and direction of its coaching staff and player development.

Congratulations, Coach Reid!
