RESPECT- As a Nevada Elite player, I choose to conduct myself on and off the pitch in a manner that shows respect for me, my teammates, my coaches, and my Club. I will confront any personal issues with my teammates and coaches in a respectful manner. I choose to be humble and respect my opponents and the officials. I respect the Game.
COMMITMENT- I am committed to improving myself as both a player and an individual by working hard at practice, in games, in school, and in life. I will try to do something extraordinary everyday. In doing so, I will improve individually and my team will improve as well.
POSITIVITY- In any situation, my attitude is the only thing over which I truly have control. I will not whine, complain, undermine, discourage, gossip, or be a part of a clique. I am an integral part of a team of "complimentors" who are gracious in receiving and giving compliments. I CHOOSE TO BE POSITIVE.
CARING- My team and Club are an extension of my family. I care about every one of my teammates, coaches, and other members of the Club as human beings. I am considerate of the feelings of my teammates, coaches and other Club members, and I expect for them to be considerate of my feelings. To borrow from the world famous Liverpool F.C. motto, "You’ll never walk alone" as both a member of my team and Nevada Elite FC.
BELIEF- I believe that I can accomplish whatever I set as my goal if I work hard and focus. I believe that my team can do the same. However, if I do not follow these core values and believe in myself, then neither I nor my team will ever realize the goals that we set individually and as a team.
If every player follows these core values, then each player, their team and the Club will find success. Players always should come to training sessions and games with the attitude that "Today I am going to make everyone else on my team better. I am going to challenge my teammates to be better players through my own hard work and dedication." Keep this in mind, and the entire Club--every player, every team--will have a successful season.
Credit for these core values goes to the players of Nevada Elite ’95 Blue, who originally penned these thoughts in Spring 2009.
